In both the Day Camps and the Overnight Camps, children will learn about wolves, foxes, coyotes, and bison -- and other nifty things in the world around them -- in a safe and educational setting. Campers will play tracking and direction-finding games, make crafts and treats for the wolves, decorate a t-shirt to take home, and some may even meet some Canis lupus familiaris (domestic dogs) and the Park's tame red foxes (under adult supervision). Kids will learn to identify frogs and other small local wildlife. Exact curriculum varies to be age-appropriate, and some activities are weather-dependent, so not all activities will be available in all seminars.
Cameras are welcome and recommended -- there will be lots of opportunities for picture-taking! Be sure to bring sunscreen and/or bug spray. Camp will take place rain or shine -- we will not cancel due to weather -- so be sure to bring rain gear just in case. Also, this camp is KIDS ONLY! We are sorry, but we do not allow adults to remain with their children during camp. Please arrange drop-off and pick-up accordingly.
SAFE ATTIRE IS REQUIRED. Campers MUST be wearing (or bring with them) long pants and closed-toed shoes (sneakers, not sandals) in order to meet our foxes. Earrings and other dangly jewelry must be removed. Long hair should be tied back in a ponytail (no braids). Children who do not have this attire will not be permitted to interact with our animals. (Sorry!)
Please be sure to advise Wolf Park staff of any special needs (medication, allergies, etc.) your child(ren) may have, so everyone may have a safe and enjoyable experience!
There is a maximum of 12 children per seminar or day camp. Spots are filled on a first-come, first-served basis, so send in your application early!
If you have questions about the seminars, please click here or call Wolf Park at (765) 567-2265 between 9 and 5 Mon-Fri, or email Wolf Park Kids!.
